Kathmandu, Sept. 17: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology will observe the 9th National Science Day throughout the country on Friday. This year, the day is being marked with the theme ‘Quality Development of Science and Technology: Easy Way from Disaster and Pandemic’.
The week-long programme has begun on September 13 and will continue till September 19.
Various programmes would be organised to highlight the progress the country has made in science, technology and innovation sectors.
On the occasion, the government will announce the prizes in the category of Science Journalism, Aeronautical Technology, Space Technology, Disaster Risk Reduction Technology and Biological Technology.
The day is marked on Ashoj 1, according to Nepali calendar, since 2013 (2070 BS), every year.
Dr. Rabindra Dhakal, chief of Department of Technology of National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), said that the inauguration of new building, scheduled for Friday, had been postponed due to tight schedule of prime minister on the Science Day.
The NAST will organise interaction programme through a virtual means on the occasion.
