Banepa, Sept 9 : In a bid to incentivize students with outstanding academic performance, Panauti municipality on Sunday honoured 56 students with cash on the occasion of 40th National Education Day and 53rd International Literacy Day.
The Education Section of the municipality felicitated students of Panauti-based public and private schools who secured distinction in SEE and basic level in the academic year 2075 BS.
The municipality handed letter of appreciation along with cash Rs 5,000 each to 11 students obtaining distinction marks in SEE and cash ranging Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,000 each to 45 students of primary level based on their marks.
On the occasion, Panauti municipality mayor Bhim Neupane said the students were felicitated to motivate them to boost up their performances. "This is the municipality-sponsored incentive programme. We will come up with additional plans to enhance educational quality".
The programme was attended by teachers, guardians, employees and elected people's representatives. (RSS)
