Inaruwa, Dec. 24: Mother’s groups of Debangunj Rural Municipality, Sunsari, have been receiving training under modern digital literacy campaign in Shree Krishna Secondary School for two months.
The campaign has started with the aid of State 1 government, to make the guardians of those who are studying in Shri Krishna Secondary School, literate through digital technology.
Umesh Mahat, principal of the school, said that 20 mothers were receiving training under the literacy campaign.
“We are striving to make mothers tech-friendly through the means of mobile,” said Ganesh Prasad Mehta, trainer of the campaign. “We have already trained the mothers about basics of reading and writing.”
We will now focus on making them able to use digital technology, through mobile phones, he added.
We have received training from the government, said Mehta. “The government has further directed us to train student’s mothers.”
Mehta said that they had formed a mother’s group to provide training to them under the campaign.
Since everyone in the village are equipped with mobile phone, the tech-education is being provided through it.
“Youth who flee abroad for foreign employment tend to communicate with their families back home through mobile phones,” said Mehta. “As mobile has been digitally reuniting families all over the world, mothers here are in utmost need of mobile education.
The basics of using mobile phones such as saving contact names and numbers, clicking pictures, video calling through internet, using Google search are being taught to the mothers.
