Mobilise property productively, Minister tells Sajha Bhandar

Kathmandu, Sept. 17: Minister for Land Management, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviaiton Padma Kumari Aryal Tuesday urged the Sajha Bhandar to mobilise its property in productive sectors.
Addressing the 13th annual general meeting of Sajha Bhandar Cooperatives Sanstha in the capital today, Minister Aryal said that the assets of the cooperatives located across the country should be utilised in the productive sectors.
Stating that the ministry was ready to mobilise the assets of the cooperatives in the productive sectors, Minister Aryal urged its shareholders to come for dialogue with open heart to invest in the new and productive sectors.
Urging the shareholders to save the assets of the cooperatives, Minister Aryal said that it was the property of the government and therefore should be protected.
“There is sufficient asset, let convert it into investment to produce quality goods and services,” She said.
She said that the ministry was planning to move Sajha Prakashan ahead in a new way. The Sajha Bhandar should play a crucial role to supply quality goods and services to the people as per the changed scenarios in the market, she said.
She urged the officials of Sajha Bhandar to maintain quality and purity in its goods and services. She, further said that the ministry was ready to make open discussion to make the cooperatives more effective in the market.
She informed that the government had started a process to operate the Sajha Yatayat in a new form by providing Rs. 3 billion to it.
Minister Aryal urged the cooperatives to mobilise their funds in the productive sectors. If some laws are creating hurdles to invest the fund of cooperatives, the government was ready to amend such laws, she said.
