Kathmandu, Sept 6 : Minister for Energy, Hydropower and Irrigation, Barshaman Pun, has urged Russia to invest in energy and hydropower in Nepal.
He reminded that Russia had contributed a lot to Nepal's infrastructure development in the past, and hoped that the assistance could be continued at present as well.
Minister Pun was mentioning it during a courtesy call paid to him by Russian Ambassador to Nepal, Alexie A Novikov.
He further said the friendly relations between the two countries have now spread to people's level.
Minister Pun's secretariat informed that the Minister urged the Russian Ambassador to relay the message to the Russian investors that favourable environment was created for the investment in Nepal's hydropower.
In response, Ambassador Novikov said Russia was also interested in extending cooperation in the energy sector in Nepal. (RSS)
