Kathmandu, Jan 17: Minister for Urban Development Ram Kumari Jhakri has said remarkable works have been carried out on law drafting and policy reforms in regard to urban infrastructure during her 100 days in the Ministry of Urban Development.
Releasing the ministry’s achievements on Monday on her 100 days as the Urban Development Minister, Jhakri said amendment to the urban policy was in the final phase and it would be registered in the ongoing winter session of the Federal Parliament by incorporating the issue of utility corridor.
On the occasion, Minister Jhakri said structure of the Town Development Fund would be changed giving it a new shape.
Jhakri was of the view that the Ministry was working in the campaign to make Bagmati River clean which she termed as origin of the Kathmandu Valley’s civilisation.
“A new master-plan is needed. The drafting of a bill on the High-Powered Bagmati Civilisation Integrated Development Committee is in a final stage,” Minister Jhakri stated.
She also shared that the Ministry was doing homework for amendment to the Article of Association and Regulations of Rastriya Awas Company Limited.
