Minister Dhakal reaffirms commitment to ensure more reforms

Kathmandu, Nov 21: Newly-appointed Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal has reaffirmed his commitment to ensure more reforms in the entire health sector.
Assuming his office at the Ministry on Thursday, Minister Dhakal vowed to bring everyone under the coverage of health services as stipulated in the Constitution.
Dhakal instructed the staffers in the Ministry to work more efficiently to provide quality healthcare services to public.
After taking stock of the activities of his new office, Minister Dhakal shared that he would soon make on-site visit of all the state-run Hospitals to take stock of their state and performances.
The Minister, who earlier served as the Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs in the incumbent cabinet, has replaced Deputy Prime Minister and outgoing Minister for Health and Population Upendra Yadav.
DPM Yadav has been handed over the portfolio of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
Similarly, Nawaraj Rawat, the newly appointed Minister of State for Health and Population, also assumed his office from today.
Minister Dhakal and Minister of State Rawat were inducted in the incumbent cabinet following the reshuffle on Wednesday of the Council of Ministers by President Bidya Devi Bhandari on the recommendation of the Prime Minister and in accordance with Article 76(9) of the Constitution.
MoHP's secretary Khagaraj Baral welcomed the newly appointed Minister Dhakal and Minister of State Rawat and briefed about the programme and policies adopted by the Ministry for this fiscal year.
