Kathmandu, June 18: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has announced to provide Rs. 20 million for the emergency assistance to the landslide and flood victims of Melamchi Municipality of Sindhupalchowk.
Mayor Bidhya Sundar Shakya announced the emergency assistance to Melamchi Municipality at the 9th convention and the meeting of the Municipal Council held on Thursday.
Mayor Shakya’s proposal to provide the emergency assistance of Rs. 20 million was approved by the meeting, said Municipal executive member Pasang Nurbu Lama.
According to Lama, the grant would be used for the relief and rescue of the flood and landslide victims of Melamchi, which is the sister city of KMC.
