By Lucky Chaudhary, Kathmandu, Aug. 1: A police official deployed for the security of Agni Sapkota, Speaker of the House of Representatives, has tested positive for COVID-19.
Speaker Sapkota's secretariat confirmed that the security official had tested COVID-19 positive. He was on duty till July 21.
The security official's swab sample was collected for Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test after his colleague in the Police Headquarter was found with the virus infection.
A member of the Speaker's Secretariat said that swab samples of other police officials deployed for the security of Sapkota had been collected for PCR test.
If other police officials test positive for the virus, swab sample of Speaker Sapkota will also be collected for COVID-19 test, said the Secretariat member requesting anonymity.
