Kathmandu, Nov. 21: The government has constituted a Border Dispute Inspection Committee for conducting a study on the border disputes and settle them.
According to Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota, the committee would settle the border rows seen with the neighbouring countries, India and China.
The Committee was provided Terms of Reference (ToR) to make their working area clear and concise.
As per the ToR, the Committee will study and report to the government about the disputed border points and the missing pillars of the borders, Minister Baskota said while speaking at a weekly press meet organised to make the cabinet decisions public.
The Cabinet meetings on November 15 and 20 had taken this and other decisions.
Minister Baskota, who is also the government spokesperson, said the map row seen with India should be settled through political and bilateral talks.
Public and all political parties have given the government power and support to make the stands of Nepal clear about the border with India, Minister Baskota said.
"We have made our national vision on the issues of map row seen with India, our border and territory. The nation in this regard is united and has one common voice to safeguard our national sovereignty,” he said.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli himself had clearly stated that Nepal doesn't want one inch territory of other nations and will not allow others to encroach one inch territory of Nepal, he said.
“The Prime Minister has made the government's view clear on the border issue with India which can be easily understood by the grassroots,” Minister Baskota said.
In another context, Minister Baskota said that the reshuffle of the Cabinet was usual and the prerogative of the Prime Minister.
“The Prime Minister has believed that the newly appointed ministers will produce results from their works,” he said.
When asked about the 21-point blames labelled against the government by the Nepali Congress, Minister Baskota suggested the NC to see history and look its works when it was in the government.
There are always the people who decide the fate of a political party through the ballot papers, he said.
Meanwhile, the government has decided to provide honorary Nepali citizenship certificate to British national Colin Philip Smith, 81, known as Father of Butterfly or Putali Baje and 59-year old South Korean national and Mountaineer Um Hong Gil.

The government has endorsed to pool around 11.08 ropanis of land, including 47 houses for the construction of a flyover along the proposed Kalanki-Thakot-Naghdhunga tunnel highway.
