By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb. 20: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has entrusted the responsibility of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to Dr. Yuwa Raj Khatiwada, Minister for Finance, upon the recommendation of the Prime Minister, following the resignation of Gokul Prasad Baskota from the post today.
Similarly, the President assigned Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basant Kumar Nembang to Urban Development Ministry. Communications Minister Baskota was looking after this ministry as well.
According to the statement of the spokesperson at the Office of the President, Hari Prasad Dahal, Minister Baskota resigned from his post as per Article 77 (2) (a) of the Constitution of Nepal.
Following leakage of an audio clip, Minister Baskota was drawn into controversy related to bribe upon which he resigned from the post.
