Kathmandu, Nov. 20: Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Rajendra Shrestha said the government would introduce the Federal Civil Service Act through ordinance.

At a press meet organized by the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) in Sankhuwasabha district headquarters, Khandbari, on Saturday, Minister Shrestha said the bill related to the civil service has long been stalled in the parliament due to political wrangling despite endorsement from the Business Advisory Committee.

Though several attempts were made to introduce the Act after parliamentary deliberations, it was not materialized due to political mudslinging, he added. “Provinces and local levels have come across a big trouble due to short of employees for the restructuring of the ministry”.

In lack of the formulation of the law, there emerges lack of 40 percent employees in administrative sector and 60 percent in technical sector, the minister shared.

He expressed his confidence that the deadlock surfaced in the mobilization of employees would be averted with the introduction of the ordinance.

On another note, Minister Shrestha said the ruling coalition would continue to exist till next elections. Claiming that the ruling coalition would remain in place till next elections, he stressed the need to continue the coalition until upcoming elections taking into consideration the special circumstances.
