Waling, Oct 9: An elderly woman died in a road accident in Syangja district on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Phoolmaya Sarki, 65, of Bhirkot municipality-3, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Syangja, Nabin Krishna Bhandari.
The accident took place when a bus (Lu 1 Kha 7664) heading towards Butwal from Pokhara hit Sarki at Waling municipality-1 along Siddhartha Highway.
She died while undergoing treatment at District Hospital, Syangja.
Police have arrested bus driver 30-year-old Netra Lal Bhattarai and started further investigation into the case.
