By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 20: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has put three provinces on alert for heavy monsoon rains.
Citing that the risk of rain-induced disasters like floods and landslides had increased, the DHM has requested everyone in Province 1, Province 2 and Bagmati Province to stay alert and opt for the precautionary measures.
According to the Flood Forecast Division under the DHM, the possibility of flooding in various rivers and streams is prevalent even today.
According to a bulletin issued by the Division on Sunday morning, the water flow in the Mahakali and its tributaries is expected to increase on Sunday.
Similarly, in some small rivers, the flow of water is likely to cross the alert level and reach the danger level. Therefore, the DHM has requested the locals to adopt high vigilance in small riparian areas.
