Kathmandu, Aug. 3: The annual report of the Muslim Commission for the fiscal year 2076/077 has been tabled in the House of Representatives today. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Gyanendra Bahadur Karki presented the annual report on behalf of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Today's meeting of the House of Representatives passed a condolence resolution on the demise of former MP Akbar Bahadur Singh. The meeting unanimously passed the resolution presented by Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota.
The meeting observed a minute of silence to mourn Singh's death. Singh died at the age of 90 on July 30.
He was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from the then Rashtriya Prajatantra Party in 2048 BS from Darchula Constituency No. 2. Singh, who played an active role in the democratic movement, was recently affiliated with the Nepali Congress Party.
The next meeting of the House of Representatives will be held on August 10.
