Pokhara Sept 18: People of Pokhara have complained to Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung that the employees mobilised to control dengue were not working seriously.
In the Hello Chief Minister’ programme run by the State government, people complained about the increasing cases of dengue in Kaski district. It was stated that about 1500 people were infected with the dengue in Kaski district.
They said though the government had spread a message to be cautious about dengue by adopting preventing measures, the employees deployed to control the disease told them nothing about preventive measures.
They also urged the Chief Minister to strongly monitor the dengue control programme.
“A monitoring team came to my house and directly went to spill all the water kept in tanks and buckets and returned even without giving any information about precautionary measures and treatment” Govinda Rijal of Pokhara -17 said in the programme.
During the programme, many people urged CM Gurung to implement the budget allocated for dengue control.
Responding to the public concerns received through the Hello CM programme, CM said the Gandaki State was quite serious about controlling dengue.
He informed that he had already directed the related minister and secretary to make the programme more effective.
