Kathmandu, Nov. 25: The COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre-Operations (CCMC-OPs) has decided to recommend the government to allow flights in all countries from Nepal after assessing the risk of coronavirus infection.
A meeting of the Directive Committee of the CCMC-OPs on today decided to allow flights to other countries besides those countries where flights from Nepal have already begun.
After assessing the risk of infection, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation was given authority by the Cabinet meeting to allow regular flights to other countries as per the need, said Mahendra Prasad Guragain, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and coordinator of the Committee.
He said, “The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation is given authority to allow regular flights to other countries as per the need after assessing the risk of infection in countries other than those where regular flights have already been approved.”
The CCMC has also instructed not to completely shut down any government offices and its services just by seeing one or two cases of the virus among staffers.
He said that the office chiefs have been instructed to keep the infected people in isolation and provide service to public as usual. Discussions have also held on what kind of services can be operated in places where infections are high and where they are declining, he said.
The meeting also decided to manage parking spots for an integrated ambulance service at various local levels considering the crisis of proper parking lots in the Kathmandu Valley.
