Kathmandu, Sept. 17: Nepali Army Headquarters has hiked the daily allowance of the NA personnel participating in the UN Peacekeeping Missions.
Directorate of Public Relations and Information (DPR&I) issuing a press statement on Tuesday said that it has increased the PPPM rate by USD 85 in the existing monthly allowance of USD 1,029 for solider level. With the increment in the daily allowance, now a peacekeeper will receive USD 1,114 per month.
Similarly, the monthly allowance of Lieutenant Colonels, who basically take the charge as battalion commander in the UN mission, has reached USD 1,399 from USD 1,378.
A meeting of the NA Welfare Fund Operation and Management Committee held under the chairmanship of Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) General Purna Chandra Thapa on Monday took the decision to this effect.
The Committee was established as guided by Military Act-2006.
Brigadier General and spokesperson at the Nepal Army Headquarters Bigyan Dev Pandey said that the decision was taken as per the recommendation forwarded by a taskforce formed to collect recommendations from all its personnel and officers on this regard.
The increased allowance would come into effect from October 1, 2019.
