Kathmandu, Sep. 8: The government has rewarded 80 government officials for their excellent service on the occasion of Civil Service Day, 2021.
The prizes were distributed to the best civil servants of the year 2019 and 2020 amid a special programme organised by the Civil Service Day event organising committee on Tuesday.

The 20 employees winning the 'Excellent Civil Service Award' received Rs. 100,000 each and 60 others decorated with 'Civil Service Award' got Rs. 50,000 each. They were also presented certificates.
Similarly, civil servants securing first, second and third positions in the essay writing and poem competition were also rewarded on the occasion.

The 40 officials declared as best civil servants this year will be presented the prize next year. Addressing the programme, Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi said that competitive and competent civil servants should deliver services to the people in a neutral manner.
He also directed all government officials to carry out their duty by being professional and creative.

"As civil servants are the agents of development, they must make their services fast, flexible, and credible," said Bairagi.
Similarly, Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration Ek Narayan Aryal said that the role of civil servants was vital in improving the country's public administration.
