Kathmandu, May 23: Sixty five people have been kept in quarantine in Chandragiri municipality after they tested positive for COVID-19 in the rapid diagnostic test (RDT).
Municipality spokesman Hari Bhakta Maharjan said 65 people of the municipality tested positive to coronavirus in the RDT. The municipality had carried out the tests on people who had entered the municipality from various districts during the lockdown.
He said among the 65 people, 56 have been kept in quarantine at the Manmohan Hospital Dahachok, four persons have been kept in quarantine at Naikap Party Palace, three persons have been kept in quarantine at the Mangal Madhyamik Vidyalaya, one person at the quarantine at Chandragiri Cottage and one person at home quarantine.
The throat and nasal swab has been collected from these people for testing using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method for reconfirmation.
Likewise, the municipality has also collected swab from 106 people including the mayor, the deputy mayor, people's representatives, health workers and security personnel for PCR test.
