By Our Correspondent, Bara, Mar.30: Police have arrested 64 people here for violating the lockdown on the seventh day on Monday.
One of the arrestees has lodged an abusive case under public-health, health, safety, convenience and morality, while other 11 have been sent to the District Administration Office Bara for action under the Infectious Disease Act-2020, said Gautam Mishra, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office.
Mishra, who is also a district police spokesperson informed that other 52 of the arrestees were fined Rs. 100 and sent back home advising them not to defy the government’s order.
Likewise, 231 motorcycles, six trucks, three tractors and one car have been taken under control for violating lockdown in the district. Depending on the documentation of the vehicles, the fines were charged from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 as per the traffic rules, Mishra said.
11 in quarantine
Out of those returning to the district from India and other countries, 11 have been kept under the supervision of health staff in the district so far, police said.
According to Bara police, five people were kept in isolation wards in Kalaiya Hospital, two in Simrounagadh Municipality, two in Devatal Municipality and one each in Piparpati and Ardashakotawal Municipality.
