62 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Kathmandu Valley

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 4: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has confirmed 62 new cases of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley today.

In 7,687 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests carried out in the last 24 hours, as many as 62 persons were identified with the virus infection in the Kathmandu Valley itself, informed Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing today.

Of the 62 new cases, 48 cases were detected in Kathmandu, 13 were detected in Bhaktapur and one in Lalitpur districts.

In the PCR test of the swabs conducted at National Public Health Laboratory, Teku, 38 people of Kathmandu and 11 people of Bhaktapur had tested positive for the virus, in the test carried out at TUTH, 5 people of Kathmandu were found with the virus.


Similarly, in the test at Nepal Police Hospital, a person of Bhaktapur tested positive for the virus while 2 persons of Kathmandu and a person of Lalitpur were found infected in the test carried out at Star Hospital in Lalitpur. In the test conducted at the BIDH lab, 3 persons from Kathmandu were found with the virus while in the test at Nepal Korea Friendship hospital, a person from Bhaktapur was identified with the virus.
