Simkot, Oct 14 : Food grain has been dispatched to Limi of Namkha rural municipality-6, a trans-Himalayan remote area in the northern belt of Humla district.

Three hundred quintals of rice has been sent to 180 households at Tin, Jang and Halji settlements in the area in the witness of the rural municipality ward chair.

The consignment was dispatched on Tuesday after these settlements faced food shortage due to the halt in the import of food grains from Tibet Autonomous Region of China. The Nepal-China border transit in Humla is closed.

The locals of Limi had been demanding with the local authorities, political parties and leaders for supplying food grain to their area after the area started reeling under food shortage.

Nepal Food Management and Trading Company Limited sent the food grain in the witness of Namkha rural municipality, ward no 6 Chair, Paljor Tamang.

The Company had, a few days back, urged the Company's central office for the supply of 5,000 quintals rice but it sent only 300 quintals.
