3 Nepalis die in Abu Dhabi accident

Kathmandu, Jan. 18: Three Nepali migrant workers died and 14 other sustained injuries in a road accident in Abu Dhabi of the United Emirates on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Bhawana Kunwar of Pyuthan, Krishna Kumari Adhikari of Jhapa and Amisha Moktan of Bara, according to Nepali Embassy in Dubai.
A total of six people have died while 14 sustained injuries in the accident. Of the three others dead were one Pakistani national, one Sri Lankan and one African national.
The Nepali nationals who had sustained injuries have been undergoing treatment at Mafraq Hospital, NMC Royal Hospital and Al Rahba Hospital of Abu Dhabi, the embassy informed.
Those who sustained injuries were identified as Maya Tamang and Sarita Thapa of Sindhupalchowk, Tulasha Thapa, Muna Rai and Pabitra Gurung of Jhapa, Sita Subba of Ilam, Rita Siwakoti of Makawanpur, Kamala Nepali of Lalitpur, Asha Gharti Magar of Ghorahi and Sujala Bishwokarma, whose home address was yet to be ascertained.
Nirmala Praja of Chitwan has already returned the camp of the company following the general check-ups.
Out of 24 people on-board the minibus, 18 were reported to be Nepalis, the embassy informed.
The accident took place when a minibus carrying female cleaners of Modern Building Maintenance (MBM) Company of UAE collided with a lorry at Al Rahba area on Thursday morning.
Following the accident, Nepali Ambassador to Abu Dhabi Krishna Prasad Dhakal and other officials of the embassy have reached the respective hospitals and inquired about their health condition with the doctors involved in their treatment.
As informed by the embassy, they have been coordinating with the local administration, MBM Company and hospitals to send the bodies to Nepal.
