Lumbini, March 31:  A total of 298 Nepalis on their way home from India have been stranded in no man’s land after the lockdown order issued by the government.    

It is said that the travelers were stranded as the Rupandehi District Administration Office failed to take prompt actions despite the circulation of the Federal and State governments to let enter those stranded citizens in the border areas.    

However, the Chief District Officer of Rupandehi district Mahadev Pantha said that the citizens have been stopped for the time being for lack of sufficient quarantines.    

“They arrived here despite know the notice of lockdown. Now, it’s our responsibility for their management,” Pantha said.    

“We will let them enter only after making arrangements for quarantines and after their health checkups. The number is big so it got delayed,” he shared.    

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Man Bahadur Shahi, those stranded people include 133 of Arghakhanchi district, 71 of Gulmi, 22 of Rupandehi, 10 of Kapilbastu, 8 of Banke and two of Dhading districts.    

Likewise, 15 individuals are from Palpa district and four of Pyuthan, seven of Tanahun, four of Baglung, 19 of Chitwan and one each from Nawalparasi and Syangja district are among those stranded in the no man’s land.
