25 houses destroyed in Narainapur

By Our Correspondent, Nepalgunj, Mar. 8: A fire that broke out at Suiya village in Ward No. 1 in Narainapur Rural Municipality in Banke district on Monday morning has reduced 25 houses into ashes.

Ward chairman Ishtiyak Ahamad Sah said that the fire that broke out at around 11:00 a.m., first started from the house of a local Manijar Pasi, was made worse by the windy weather.

Although there was no loss of life attributed to the fire, other damages were reported.

As the fire brigade was called immediately, many other houses were saved from the blaze, said Sah.

A team of police and the Armed Police Force who had reached the spot immediately had the fire under control.

A fire brigade office has been set up in Narainapur two years ago as firefighters from Nepalgunj take time to arrive before the situation spirals out of control.

The municipality has been aiding the victims with the meals in makeshift accommodation.

Nepal Red Cross Society Banke has also stated that it will provide immediate assistance and reliefs to the victims.
