1,698 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Kathmandu Valley


By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct. 18: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Sunday confirmed 1,698 new cases of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley.

In 14,875 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done across the nation in the last 24 hours, as many as 1,698 persons were found with the novel coronavirus infection in the Valley itself, said Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing today.

Of the 1,698 new cases, 1,469 were detected in Kathmandu, 99 were found in Bhaktapur and   130 were recorded in Lalitpur.

Moreover, some 2,942 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed across the nation on Sunday, taking the national tally to 132,246 including 92,166 cases of recoveries and 739 death cases.
