Khotang, Sept 7 : Ten people's representatives including Chief of District Coordination Committee here registered themselves as the leaders of CPN (Unified Socialist).
District Coordination Committee Chief Babi Chamling and other representatives elected from the CPN UML got themselves verified as the leaders belonging to the CPN (Unified Socialist) and attested their signatures at District Election Office.
Others joining the new party include DCC members Uday Bahadur Karki and Ranjana Rai, Chairperson of Bahrapokhari Rural Municipality-4, Bhuwal Raj Rai, and ward level leaders as Hari Bahadur Magar, Anup Chamling Rai, Hari Chamling, Prakash Rai, and Ram Kumar Basnet.
District secretary of CPN (Unified Socialist) Jalsher Rai informed that the leaders in the district were registering themselves in the party after senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal split the CPN UML and formed the new one. The Election Commission then set the deadline for the people's representatives of CPN UML to decide their affiliation- whether to stay with CPN UML or join CPN (Unified Socialist) till today.
"So far, 41 people's representatives verified their affiliation to CPN (Unified Socialist). Those from geographically distant area would register their details today too," added Jalsher Rai.
