By Dev Bahadur Kunwar, Kathmandu, Mar. 27: On the fourth day of the nation-wide lockdown, Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has directed local administrations to rescue foreigners and domestic migrant workers who have been stranded in their respective areas due to the lockdown.

The meeting of the security officials held today at MoHA decided to make the security authorities and respective administration more efficient in rescuing the people made helpless to move following the lockdown.

Labourers being sent to their home districts

MoHA informed that it would rescue and send domestic migrant labourers who were stranded in various parts of Rupandehi, Banke, Lamjung, Parbat, Kaski, Syanja, Dailekh and Terhathum to their home districts.

MoHA has directed the local administration and police authority to take effetive and prompt steps in this regard.

Rescue of stranded tourists

The German Embassy in Nepal, in coordination with Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, has rescued over 300 German nationals who got stranded in different parts of Nepal due to the lockdown. MoHA said that they were flown to Germany by a chartered aircraft of Qatar Airways.
