Six tourists including four German nationals rescued

By Amrit Prasad Poudel, Beni, Oct. 23: Six tourists including four German nationals have been rescued by Nepal Police from Mustang today.  

According to the District Police Office, Mustang, the tourists have not been in contact since October, 21 and were rescued by a helicopter.

Pratap Poudel, Inspector at District Police Office, Mustang, said that four German tourists and two Nepali tourists guide had left for Muktinath, Mustang on October, 4 and had reached Yakkharka on October, 21, through the Dunai trail of Dolpa. However, were stranded as they could not find a way due to snowfall caused by incessant rainfall.

“Nepal Police sent the helicopter of Kailash Air to Yakkharka for the rescue, upon receiving the information at 6 A.M. on Saturday that six people have been stranded at Yakkharka since last three days,” said Inspector Poudel.

According to Jomsom District Hospital, all six people are in good health condition except for some problem observed in their fingers.

All the rescued people have been brought to Jomsom. They will leave Kathmandu after one day’s stay. Guides have been identified as Janbu Sherpa and Dawa Sherpa.
