By Shivaraj Dhungana, Achham, June 9: An eight-month pregnant lady who was airlifted from Achham to Nepalgunj on Monday has tested positive for COVID-19.
The 25-year old female of Chaurpati Rural Municipality-5 tested COVID-19 positive in PCR test done at Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj, informed Janak Raj Dhungana, Chief of Achham Health Office.
She was airlifted after her stomach started to swell after some blockage in her intestine. Preparations for surgery of her intestine are underway.
"The doctors have said that the surgery would be done today itself," said her husband.
Her husband and two year old daughter have been kept separately.
The lady and her family had been residing in quarantine set up at Dayaapipaltola School since May 28, after returning from India.
They had visited Bayalpata Hospital for treatment on Saturday and the hospital had referred the patient to Nepalgunj on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Nepalgunj Medical College in Kohalpur, Banke has been sealed completely after she tested positive for the virus, according to RSS.
