By Dipak Shrestha, Apr. 5: The government, in line with Public Procurement Act 2063, has decided to purchase health equipments in both, Business to Government (B2G) and Government to Government (G2G) model.

The meeting of High Level Coordination Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19, in coordination of Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Ishwar Pokharel, held today decided to include both purchasing models for purchase and import of medical equipments required to contain COVID-19.

Narayan Prasad Bidari, member secretary of the committee, said that the essential equipments would be purchased in G2G model, as provisioned in the Act.

The Nepali Army (NA) has been vested with the responsibility to purchase essential equipments, under leadership of the Ministry of Health and Population.

Member Secretary Bidari informed that the meeting had also decided to conduct swab test of everyone who are being quarantined across the nation.

"After completion of 14 days of quarantine period, swab test of every individual will be conducted through Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT)," said Bidari. "If anyone is suspected to have been infected by the virus, then his/her detailed examination will be conducted."

Likewise, the meeting has decided to mobilise 80,000 women volunteers nationwide for control and prevention of COVID-19.

The volunteers will be mobilised through local level and will receive insurance and other facilities according to the work plan created by Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
