By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 27: The government had directed the head of the government offices as well as public enterprises to arrange for home based work to the employees as far as possible in the districts where prohibitory order to curb COVID-19 spread has been imposed.

Government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Parbat Gurung, informed about this at a press meet organised to make public the decisions of the Cabinet.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday made the decision that the head of the government offices and public enterprises located in the districts where prohibitory order is enforced to curb COVID-19 would use alternate system for the staff presence in the office and thus continue the services in the office. This provision has been made to avoid possible crowd in such offices. This arrangement would, however, not be applied in offices that provide most essential services, according to Minister Gurung.

Similarly, with regard to work that can be performed from home as well, the Cabinet meeting has also made decisions about 'work from home' provision. For the employees in alternate system or for those granted work from home, the head of the office should mention 'COVID work' for the day on which the concerned employee stays at home or works from home.
