By Dharbendra Jha, Janakpurdham, June 4: State Assembly of State 2 called for 3 pm today has been deferred following confirmation of infection of the novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, in the five Assembly secretariat officers.
Today's meeting of the Assembly was postponed after the report of the PCR test carried out at the National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL), Kathmandu confirmed that five officials tested positive for the virus in the test of the swabs of all the Assembly secretariat members.
Ram Prasad Ghimire, secretary of the Social Development Ministry of State 2, said the five people found infected today were males aged from 20 to 30.
Ranjit Yadav, acting secretary of the Assembly secretariat, informed that those infected are the marshals working in the secretariat.
He said that the infected were sent to the isolation for treatment and works were underway to sanitise the State Assembly.
He made it clear that the Assembly meet was called for 1 pm tomorrow, Friday, by postponing today's meeting.
Today's State Assembly meeting was to hold discussion on the framework of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year as presented by Bijay Yadav, Financial Affair and Planning Minister of State 2.
