By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar. 8: The Ministry of Health and Population on Monday confirmed 89 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation's novel coronavirus tally to 274,810.
"In 4,399 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 89 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2," informed the Ministry of Health and Population in its regular update.
Currently, there are 872 active cases of COVID-19. Likewise, a total of 55 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad are placed in quarantine across the nation.
Meanwhile, 55 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 270,927 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98.6 per cent.
Moreover, one fatality related to COVID-19 was confirmed in Nepal in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll is at 3,011.
