By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 26: With 1,614 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed on Thursday, Nepal's COVID-19 tally has surged to 227,640.
"As many as 1,614 persons were found with the novel coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours," revealed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its daily update.
Currently, there are 16,793 active cases of COVID-19 and 680 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Meanwhile, some 1,437 patients who were either receiving treatment in various institutional isolations or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has recorded 209,435 COVID-19 recoveries until now.
Moreover, 23 patients succumbed to the novel coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours taking the nation's COVID-19 death toll to 1,412.
