By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 3: The Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP) has stated that no positive case of COVID-19 has been registered in Pokhara, Kaski, till now.

Stating that news regarding a positive case of the virus had been floating on social media, Dr. Bikash Devkota, spokesperson for the Ministry said, "Positive case of the virus in Pokhara has not been confirmed yet."

"Some of the samples tested in Pokhara will be tested again at the National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL)," he said. "This is to ensure the validity of the testing machine."

If the result of samples tested outside the valley and NPHL matches, then the testing machines installed outside the valley would be considered valid, he said.

In today's daily briefing of COVID-19 in Nepal, Dr. Devkota informed that 1277 samples in total were tested until now and 120 COVID-19 suspects were kept in isolation.

"15 people are in isolation within the valley while 105 have been kept in isolation outside the valley," he said.

The COVID-19 sample test is being done from Kathmandu, Dharan, Pokhara, Hetauda, Janakpur, Surkhet and Dhangadhi.
