By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan. 18: The government has collected 46.16 per cent of its annual revenue target.

The government has set the annual target of Rs. 1180.6 billion revenue in the current fiscal year (FY).

 By mid-January, the government received the revenue of Rs. 544 billion, according to the financial comptroller general office (FCGO).

The amount of revenue has been up by 4.18 per cent in comparison to the same period of the previous FY.

The aggregate revenue comprises taxable and non-taxable revenue. The taxable revenue comprises of Rs. 496.3 billion while the non-taxable revenue comprises of Rs. 48.5 billion.

The FCGO showed that taxable revenue in the first half of the current FY comprises of 46.48 per cent of the annual target. The government has set the annual target of Rs. 1067.9 billion as taxable revenue target.

Similarly, the government received non-taxable revenue of 43.12 per cent of its annual target, Rs. 112.6 billion. The non-taxable revenue consists of Rs. 48.5 billion.

According to the FCGO data, the government received Rs. 13.8 billon as grant, 23.17 per cent grant out of its annual target of Rs. 59.9 billion.

The government also received a significant amount of other kinds of receipts. The FCGO data showed that the government received Rs 34.2 billion as other receipts by mid-January 2022.

With the amount of the taxable revenue, non-taxable revenue, grants and other kinds of receipts, the aggregate receipts of the government recorded Rs. 593.1 billion in the first half of the current FY. The amount comprises 47.81 per cent of its annual target of Rs. 1240.5 billion.
