Birendranagar, Nov 19: Karnali State lawmakers from both ruling and opposition parties said that they were united in common agenda.
They said so during a programme organised under the parliament support project of the UNDP on Tuesday.
At the programme organised by Dalit Women Association, lawmaker Hima Bahadur Shahi said that the lawmakers in Karnali State were raising voice against discrimination to the marginalized community and social ills.
"We're united to work for the rights and justice to the marginalized community," he said, adding that it was necessary to launch capacity building programmes in the distant rural areas.
Similarly, another lawmaker Badami Kumari Bohara viewed that the State Assembly was able to introduce the 'daughter, daughter-in-law scholarship' programme.
It was introduced as all lawmakers from Karnali region became united for it in view of the educational backwardness of the women, she added.
Lawmaker Padma Khadka viewed that once some agenda is generated with collective efforts, it would be more fruitful.
On the occasion, Chairperson of Dalit Women Association, Surkhet Chapter, Manju Sunar however expressed worry that voices of the downtrodden dalit with the dalit community were yet to be heard.
