Unplanned city causes negative development: Prof Hongler

Kathmandu, Sept 12: Lecturer from the Zurich University of applied Sciences, Switzerland, Prof. Hanspeter Hongler visited Nepal under exchange programme for a month. During his stay, he participated in a series of discussion with students and teachers of the Sociology and Social Work departments of Tribhuvan University (TU).
During the discussions, Hongler stated that research findings of his country showed that negative developments faced by urban areas are housing situation, traffic problems, pollution, prostitution, red light facilities and migrants.
The exchange programme has become supportive for students of TU to widen their horizon, Trishna Acharya, lecturer at Divya Bhumi Multiple Campus, said.
The TU has been implementing social work programme for the last six years. Prof. Honger visited Nepal at the invitation of Divya Bhumi Multiple Campus, Lalitpur.
