Kathmandu, Sept 12: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has urged the main opposition not to obstruct the House and build a minimum common understanding for the smooth functioning of the parliament.

Once the second session of HoR commenced today, the UML lawmakers sloganeered to obstruct the House.

Speaker Sapkota repeatedly urged the protesting lawmakers for paving the way for operating the House procedures smoothly. He appealed to all to create an atmosphere for talks by putting disputes aside.

Prior to the session, the Speaker had met UML Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai, Whip Shanta Chaudhary and lawmaker Khagaraj Adhikari and discussed with them possible ways for operating the House business in a smooth way.

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, was present in the discussions on behalf of the government.

The Lower House shall meet again at 1:00 pm on September 14.
