Ranjha, Dec 23 (RSS):
Two individuals are alleged of physically assaulting Banke-based journalist Sangeen Sharma, leaving him injured.
The journalist said the attack took place on Sunday was premeditated and accused the hand of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) State 5 committee member Pujan Bishwakarma in it. As he said, Bishwakarma called the two persons who attacked him on the instruction of Bishwakarma.
Journalist Sharma suffered injuries to his forehead, nose and near his eyes. During the time, he and Bishwakarma were having a dispute at the office of Yugayan Daily owned by NCP leader Bishwakarma who is the general member of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Banke chapter.
However, Bishwakarma denied the charge that he summoned the group to attack on Sharma. "The situation was invited Sharma himself as he was making noise at the Daily's office," he said.
As he claimed, he sought help of the Area Police Office, Kohalpur as Sharma was making unnecessary hullabaloo at his office. At the same time, two youths from his village came to meet him and Sharma had a dispute with them also which led to the incident.
Sharma who was the former staff of Yugayan Daily is presently the executive editor of Kohalpur-based Kanchuli Khabar Online. A team from the Area Police Office, Kohalpur which reached the incident site on Sunday evening took the two to the Office for dialogue. The two involved in the attack have been absconding since then.
The discussions continued till Sunday late evening in the presence of FNJ Banke chair Thakur Singh Tharu and NCP Kohalpur-based leaders agreed to sort out the issues through a process. As per the mutual understanding, police will arrest the perpetrators and the FNJ will investigate into the attack. The 'victim' has still a ground to seek a legal assistance if not satisfied, the Area Police Office, Kohalpur said.
