Public toilets constructed along Siddhartha Highway

By Our Correspondent, Syangja, Feb. 6: Public toilets have been constructed at various locations within the 79-kilometre stretch of Siddhartha Highway in five local levels of the district.

The toilets have been constructed keeping in mind the convenience of the commuters and the general public.

The toilets have been constructed on the roadside of Bhirkot, Putali Bazaar, Waling and Galyang municipalities and Phedikhola Gaunpalika.

With the concerns of general public, Bhirkot Municipality   and Putali Bazaar each have built five toilets, two each by Waling and Phedikhola one by Galyang

According to Mayor Chhayaram Khanal, the municipality of Bhirkot had built public toilets in Bayarghari 99 Chowk, Ranidha, Daphe  Hodal, Byarghari Bazaar and Changchongdi.

The Bhirkot Municipality has spent total Rs.2.55 million to construct a three-room toilet at 99 Chock. Of the budget, Rs. 950,000 was provided by Gandaki State and remaining was managed by Bhirkot Municipality itself. Other toilets were constructed at the cost of Rs. 1 million each.

According to Mayor Khanal, they had constructed five toilets in the municipality.

According to Mahesh Puri, Deputy Mayor of Putali Bazaar, they spent  Rs. 5 million for the construction of  five toilets in Putalibazaar.
