Pokhara, Jan 12 : Nepal Red Cross Society Kaski chapter has started the construction of a blood transfusion center with state-of-the-art facilities.
The total cost of the center is estimated Rs 80 million.
The three-storied building is being built in Pokhara Metropolitan City-8, as the building constructed in 1989 at the premises of Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences turned into a dilapidated condition after the Gorkha Earthquake occurred in 2015.
Coordinator of building construction committee Dandaraj Poudel shared that more than 50 million rupees has been collected so far including Rs 10 million from the Federal Government, Rs 5 million from the Gandaki Province Government and different other social organisations.
With the sorry state of the building, the center is having new challenges to protect invaluable equipment worth millions, Poudel said.
