One killed, one injured in Bhaktapur road accident

By TRN Online, Apr. 15: One died and one has sustained an injury when the bike heading towards Kathmandu from Bhaktapur met with an accident after losing its control at 11: 40 PM on Wednesday.

A motorcycle (Ba 53 Pa 6938) collided head-on with a railing on the left side of the road on the Araniko Highway near SS Chowk of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-4, Bhaktapur.  

According to DSP Deepak Giri of Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, the deceased has been identified as Mahesh Shah, aged 32 of Dhulikhel Municipality-10, Kavrepalanchok District.

He was declared dead by the doctor at 11:50 PM yesterday soon after arriving at the hospital and was sitting on the back of the motorcycle at the time of the accident.

The other who is in critical condition has been identified as Mahendra Shah, aged, 22 of the same place and was driving the bike, said DSP Giri.

He is receiving treatment at the Madhyapur Hospital, Thimi, Bhaktapur,  

The police team deployed under the command of Inspector, Indramani Adhikari of the Metropolitan Police Circle Thimi, Bhaktapur, went to the spot after receiving the information and rushed the two critically injured people to Madhyapur Hospital for treatment.

Driving under influence as well as speeding is cited to be the reason behind the accident on the preliminary investigation. Further investigation into the accident is underway.
