Pokhara, Oct 31 : The Gandaki State Committee of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (CPN) has decided to recommend three candidates for Kaski Constituency-2 by-election.
The recommended are Biddya Bhattarai (spouse of the late tourism minster Rabindra Adhikary), Somnath Adhikari 'Pyasi' and Rajkaji Gurung 'Karan'.
Pyasi is a senior left leader while Karan had lost State Assembly member election from Kaski 2(B) in 2074 BS.
Earlier, NCP Kaski district committee had recommended Bidya as the only candidate for upcoming by-election.
Prithvi Subba Gurung, NCP Gandaki in-charge and chief minister of Gandaki State, shared the decision to recommend three candidates was made as per the centre's directive.
The by-poll is taking place in Kaski Constituency-2 on November 30.
Meanwhile, Nepali Congress has already recommended 16 aspiring candidates to the centre. The NC is supposed to have a meeting of the central office-bearers today to finalize a candidate for the by-election in Kaski. ---
