NCP decides to vote in favour of proposal

Butwal, Oct. 4 : The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has decided to vote in favour of the proposal tabled by the State 5 government at the State Assembly on the name and capital of the state. The NCP also decided to issue a whip to its party members to vote in favour of the proposal registered on Friday, according to chief whip Bhumiswar Dhakal.    

It may be noted that the government has registered a proposal naming the state as Lumbini and Deukhuri of Dang as its permanent capital. The proposal was registered in the Friday meeting of the State Assembly by Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Kul Prasad KC.    

Meanwhile, 14 members of the NCP parliamentary party from Rupandehi, Kapilvastu and Palpa have registered a note of dissent on the party's proposal, according to state assembly member Bhoj Prasad Shrestha.    

Deliberations on the proposal will begin at the State Assembly from coming November 5.
