By A Staff Reporter

Kathmandu, Sept. 12:Nepali Army Headquarters has instructed all its senior staff officers and army personnel to submit their property details by Mid-September, 2019.
According to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information (DPR&I), all the sitting officers have to compulsorily submit their property details by Mid-September.
Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) General Purna Chandra Thapa had made his property details public on Tuesday. He is the first CoAS to make the property details public in NA’s history.
The property details should be submitted to their respective unit offices and would be made accessible within the network of Army Headquarters without hampering the privacy of individual army personnel.
CoAS Thapa on Tuesday said that he took the decision to make the property details of all personnel including him public to maintain internal good governance and transparency.
The property details submitted by every staff can now be assessed and brought into scanner of the Army Headquarters at any time of needs and urgency, said Brigadier General and spokesperson Bigyan Dev Pandey.
According to the Corruption Control Act-2059 of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority, any person enjoying the public post should compulsory submit their property details in every new fiscal year within three months of the beginning of the fiscal year.
Since he assumed the post as chief general last year in September, CoAS Thapa has been giving focus to maintain zero tolerance to corruption, internal good governance and accountability.
NA has its own military court to begin the hearing of any criminal and corruption charges against its members.
