Sankhuwasabha, Nov 1 : Maternity service has shut down in Sankhuwasabha District Hospital after doctors from Nick Simone, an organization, stayed on leave.
According to the hospital administration, all the doctors of the organization have stayed on leave at once.
The service delivery has been adversely affected with the doctors of the organization – which has been providing free services – staying on leave. The maternity service has been disrupted especially after the doctors providing obstetric services are on leave.
It may be noted that at least six expectant mothers were referred to other health facilities from the district hospital in last five days after all the doctors took leave.
Locals complained that the pregnant mothers are facing complications to deliver child with the closure of the scissoring service at the hospital.
Dipesh Shrestha of the hospital administration confirmed that the scissoring service was disrupted in absence of specialist doctors.
Despite disruption of maternity services for over five days, the hospital has not paid any attention towards managing doctors.
