By Our Correspondent, Tanahun, Apr. 25: People's representatives from Shuklagandaki Municipality in the Tanahun district have been rushing to the federal ministries demanding budget allocation for their area's plans.

Those representatives are busy visiting the thematic ministries mainly on roads, education, agriculture and tourism to demand plans for coming the fiscal year 2078/79.

A team led by Kedar Sigdel, a member of the House of Representatives, has met the concerned ministers and demanded the plan. Khim Bahadur Kumal, the spokesperson for Suklagandaki Municipality, said they had demanded construction of concrete bridges in Suklagandaki-2, 8 and 9 in the meeting with the Minister of Physical Infrastructure, Basanta Nembang.

Similarly, the team demanded plans of school building construction in different schools of the municipality with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST). The team demanded an eight-room building for Kaireni Secondary School, a building for Barahi Primary School and a hostel for Amarjyoti Secondary School.

According to spokesperson Kumal, they also demanded a budget with Prabhu Shah, Minister for Urban Development, for a city hall and for blacktop of Sakhe Baddanda Ghaderi-Pyuri Dobhan- Jaspur- Lamagaun, Ghaderi and Baddad Sankhe roads.

He informed that a plan has been submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture to operate orange and goat promotion programmes in the city. The team also demanded the budget even in the tourism sector with the Ministry of Tourism.

Deputy Chief of the Municipality Sabita Rasaili informed that the team had handed the demand book of plans to the concerned ministries.

National Assembly member Bhagwati Neupane, Shuklagandaki Municipal Committee chairperson Muktinath Timilsina and others are rushing to the ministries to demand development schemes, said spokesperson Kumal.
